About

Education

I attended the University of West Georgia where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a Pre-Law Focus in 2013.

I then attended the University of Mississippi School of Law, "Ole Miss," in Oxford, Mississippi to obtain my Juris Doctorate from 2013 - 2015. During my time at the University of Mississippi School of Law, I had the distinct opportunity to participate in legal clinics such as the Innocence Project, where we focused on overturning wrongful convictions. Preventing wrongful convictions and assisting clients in preventing overreach into the lives of the members of this community is my passion.

Passion

Along the way, I have found an additional passion for the representation of any person, in any difficult situation, that would be unable to navigate it on their own. I enjoy my work as an advocate for children in Guardian Ad Litem cases, representing parties in divorce and custody actions, and many other facets of the law concerning our local communities.

Community

I was born and raised in Carroll County and returning to this community to provide practical and informative legal advice has been a dream come true. The chance to serve this community that has given so much to me is a great joy.

License

I received my license to practice in 2016 from the State Bar of Georgia. I have remained an Attorney in good standing for more than 7 years.

Katherine M. Gargan

Attorney at Law

Hey Y’all, I’m Katie.

I was born and raised here in Carroll County. I live in Temple and always have. I am married to my wonderfully supportive husband, Chris, and we have two dogs and two cats. I never expected to become a small business owner, but I absolutely know that God opened this door for me to serve this community that I love.

I passed the Bar and became licensed in 2016. I spent my first 3 years in practice in Villa Rica and my next three years in Newnan. During my career, I have handled cases locally in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Paulding and Polk Counties, regularly. I have represented clients in criminal matters ranging in severity from traffic citations to DUI to murder, and have been privileged to receive some great results for my clients. I have additionally handled domestic/family law cases including divorce and custody with satisfactory results for clients across the metro-Atlanta and local areas.

I try to personalize my representation for each of my clients. Most often, people meet with me during the most stressful moments in their life. Most people do not know how to navigate situations in the legal field on their own. Its rarely a “good day” when someone is in need of legal representation. Each client, and their circumstances, are different, and I try to make sure that they walk through the process of their legal matter as informed as possible.

I remain so incredibly grateful for you, each client that continues to trust me to assist them. It is never lost on me that people trust me during their most vulnerable times. That’s all I really want to be known for in this business – someone you can trust. Representation you can trust.
